Business Development – Channel Partnerships Manager


This is a Full-time position in New York, NY posted June 10, 2021.

We are looking to bring on the first member of our Channel and Partnerships team at Aumni. This team will develop relationships with auditors, law firms, fund admins, and other professional groups in the venture ecosystem to accelerate our business growth. Since you will be the first member of this team, ideal candidates are self-starters who excel at managing commercial relationships, collaborating with other teams, developing and scaling best practices for relationship management, and who possess strong strategic communication skills. 

The problems you’ll solve

  • Deeply understanding the problems that our partners are trying to solve and communicating how Aumni can help win them business or save them time
  • Develop and manage a strategic feedback loop between channel relationships and Aumni Sales, Marketing, and Product
  • Mapping out the partner ecosystem and figuring out who the most relevant firms and influencers are to focus on
  • Collaborate with the Aumni sales team; and leverage channel relationships to initiate or help win business
  • How to formalize our existing relationships; and initiate, develop and expand new channel relationships in key markets
  • How to create champion networks for Aumni’s product offerings within the venture ecosystem i.e. train our channel relationships on how to effectively communicate Aumni’s value proposition to their customers 

Desired qualifications

  • Relevant knowledge of the venture ecosystem and general private markets 
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability in prior role relationship management role
  • Comfortable communicating with decision makers (c-suite, partner-level, etc.)
  • Clear, concise communication skills
  • Creative and ambitious mindset, and interest being an early contributor and team player in an expanding sales organization
  • Comfort with ambiguity in a fast-growing startup

Nice to have qualifications

  • Experience managing relationships with high-profile ecosystem partners including law firms, venture funds, accelerators, founder communities, service providers, or other technology companies 

What to expect in the hiring process:

We go through the same interview steps for all Business Development Channel Partnerships Manager candidates to ensure equity in our hiring process.


Our process is designed to learn as much about each candidate as possible, as well as to give candidates access to our team and learn about what it’s like to be in sales at Aumni. Topics will range from venture experience to problem-solving approaches and a mock discovery call.


  • Initial screen: Have a quick 20-30 minute chat with the hiring manager to learn more about each other.
  • Prepare for a mock 15 minute introduction to Aumni presentation
  • Meet the team: 30 minute call with 4 Aumni team members
  • Talk to a senior leader/advisor/investor: Learn more about our strategy.
  • Get a decision: We’ll get back to you within a week on what’s next.
