Who you are:

Company is hiring a VP of Design to scale our Design organization and create a culture of design performance. This team serves a vital role in the company by partnering closely with leaders in marketing, product management, engineering and others to create meaningful customer experiences rooted in usability and psychological principles, which are enjoyable for customers to use and enable Company and our partners to achieve their business goals. This position requires a design leader comfortable with complex domains, who is able to create frameworks for product and creative exploration that leads to effective exchanges of ideas and deliverables between key stakeholder groups while staying attentive to the details.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead Company Design organization- managing, mentoring and growing an existing team of design professionals
  • Have extensive experience in e-commerce and significant interest and understanding of the psychology of customers using digital experiences
  • A proven track record of building teams and design solutions that perform in terms of achieving business goals and objectives
  • Be a partner with the Product Management, Engineering and Marketing leadership teams, collaborate closely with those leaders as well as the CEO to drive business initiatives forward
  • Create frameworks to enable the right kinds of exploration, exchanges, feedback, focus and creativity
  • Establish a set of exercises, workshops and review sessions through which ideas and deliverables are guided from open ended idea generation to product requirements and from design explorations, executive reviews to final designs
  • Influence strategic vision for Company products, from a UX and Visual design perspective
  • Play a key role in customer, prospect and partner interactions, and be a strong voice for Company in the broader product community
  • Coach team members across the organization in understanding how to balance business goals, creativity, speed, quality and impact
  • Create broad visibility into learnings and impact; develop organization-wide understanding of and enthusiasm for the strategic impact your team delivers to the company


  • Bachelors Degree in related field
  • Experience with aligning a design org around our core principles rooted in the balancing of psychology, data, usability and creativity. You recognize that ideas come from all areas and empower people to strive for inspiration and innovation
  • Been responsible for driving long term design vision and strategy with demonstrated deep domain expertise and understanding of eCommerce and CRO
  • Managed a growing design team in a rapidly scaling company, with examples of hiring and coaching people across multiple levels and skillsets
  • Exhibited relentless customer focus, and enjoy being a spokesperson for customers and prospects. You inspire others through customer stories, and love being in the field with sales and customer success
  • Overseen marketing and creative design efforts including ads, brand campaigns, videos
  • Operate well in the unknown, and enjoy crafting strategy and vision for a quickly changing industry
  • Employ a facilitative leadership style to lead the team to better solutions, stronger team performance, and a healthy culture of collaboration
