Job Description

The Assistant, Display assists in the planning, implementing and maintaining of media campaigns across multiple channels. As an entry level position, the Assistant, Display position represents the start of a media career.

You will be essential in the daily tactical management of the media account. While advanced Media thinking is not expected, the successful Assistant, Display is resourceful and shows the initiative to participate in advanced projects.

The Assistant, Display position is training-intensive. Aptitude for learning new skills (both technical and organic) and procedures is essential. You will be an active participant, increasing participation over time in the position. You will also be encouraged to contribute ideas and insights to benefit our clients.

You Will

Media Planning and Execution:

  • Use syndicated planning tools to run reports, create RFP partner lists and develop insights
  • Run and maintain spending reports, and implement baseline assessments of data
  • Help create and send questionnaire/RFP to appropriate sites
  • Collect RFP responses from sites (follow up with sites who haven’t responded) and help analyze proposals
  • Create insertion orders within PRISMA to reserve advertising space
  • Create and maintain records of plans, insertion orders, schedules, contracts.
  • Reconcile billing discrepancies and process all invoices for payment
  • Assume ownership of monthly forecasting spreadsheets and billing sheets
  • Help set up 3rd party ad server/tracker system: follows through to ensure sites are enabled and all materials are received from creative agency
  • Traffic creative through client/agency and site
  • Assist Planners in tracking/evaluating campaign effectiveness with post analysis reports
  • Assist Planners in the creation of client reporting; weekly and monthly
  • Maintain 3rd party ad server/tracker revisions throughout campaign
  • Handle daily campaign maintenance including questions regarding creative, 3rd party ad servers, tracking and trafficking
  • Ensure all campaigns are tracking to full delivery
  • Confirm digital campaigns are on budget
  • Help evaluate media opportunities
  • Field incoming proposals/phone calls from site/sales representatives
  • Develop a knowledge of online planning/research tools
  • Demonstrate multi-tasking ability, keep multiple projects on-track, structuring and executing work

Client & Internal Relationships

  • Support Planners in preparing and delivering work to clients and colleagues
  • Work with Billing department to confirm receipt of invoices and that invoices are correctly reconciled
  • Manage internal/client status reports
  • Attend all status meetings
  • May inform clients/planning staff of new opportunities or issues
  • Manage relationships with external client vendors
  • Participate and contribute in face-to-face client meetings
  • Engage with all work-related contacts in a professional & respectful manner
  • Possess professional business acumen in personal and written communications

Strategic Thinking & Leadership

  • Keep current with market research (industry periodicals, email newsletters, websites)
  • Demonstrate active listening skills and ability to apply insights over time
  • Recognize potential issues, know when to escalate and propose solutions, where possible
  • Take clear ownership of assigned tasks

Communications Skills

  • Organize ideas and information logically and sequentially
  • Express oneself concisely in oral and written communications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Strong interest in and familiarity with digital media (internet, mobile, gaming)
  • Desire to learn about interactive media
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
