Sr. Application Support Administrator

This is a Full-time position in Ozone Park, NY posted March 1, 2021.

The Sr. Application Support Administrator will be responsible for providing support for the Financial applications at The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA). Responsibilities include working with IT Ops, Engineering, and Corporate Controller’s teams, tenants to identify and address production issues and business process-related enhancements. The Sr. Application Support Administrator will document existing processes, workflows, and business process-related enhancements and conduct end-user training development and delivery. In addition, heshe will consult with external vendors to resolve issues requiring additional analysis or development as well as troubleshoot and resolve daily support tickets, including escalation to other IT groups and external vendors, and any data issue with the applications. The Sr. Application Support Administrator will also provide end user training and documentation as required as well as testing of new or modified applications. Essential Functions Strategy Planning Create and deploy feedback mechanisms for end users. Analyze results, make recommendations for support process improvement, and implement changes. Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent repeated future problems. Operational Management Manage day to day tasks associated with managing of Financial systems. For instance, making sure system is updated with correct data from all the sources, fixing and reconciling to validate systems accuracy, running appropriate reports and delivering information to various entities within and outside the company. Onboard new users by setting up the system, providing training and documentation. Identify and recommend solutions and customizations to the system to meet user requirements. Work closely with vendor(s) (including offshore vendors) to fix bugs and provide support for the testing of new and existing features under development or for applications. Work closely with stakeholders to research, analyze, document, and resolve system issues. Design and implement in-house support tools to enhance functionalities. Create help manuals for existing and new applications and assist in user training. Assist enterprise applications team to optimize application performance by identifying areas for improvement, whether a process improvement or a system enhancement. Assist enterprise applications team on project related tasks. Write test plans according to technical requirements and develop testing strategies Change Management including system testing, scrutinizing release documentation, ensuring release controls have been adhered to, and execution of releases to the production environment. Knowledge Required Bachelor’s Degree Five (5) Years of experience in a senior technical support role Proven experience providing application support for financial and accounting applications Experience training users on new application features and functionality Proven experience managing and monitoring applications for successful integration Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to create organized and informative reports, as well as comprehensive, accurate documentation Self-motivation and capability to work with minimal supervision Ability to participate in multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to tight schedules Some proven experience in Microsoft Dynamics GP Experience with different types of web browsers Knowledge of accounting principles Experience with ExcelExcel formulas, SFTP, ETLSSIS, file formats and other data loading methods Knowledge of data analytics Experience with creating and executing test scripts Experience with SQL databases, SQL queries, SQL jobsscheduler, and the ability to use SSMS Basic understanding of SQL reporting services (SSRS) Experience with AgileScrum methodology is a plus Basic horse racing knowledge preferred, but not required
