Construction Manager

This is a Full-time position in Ontario, NY posted May 9, 2021.

Good Day!The NES Fircroft Chicago office is excited to announce we are partnering with a fast growing renewable energy organization that transforms organic waste into renewable natural gas and creates innovative approaches to plastics renewables.

Currently, this organization has several opportunities open for Construction Managers at some of their new construction sites.

Job Details Location: Ontario County, NY and Sioux Falls, SD—Candidates must be willing to travel between two sites.

Hours: M-F 40-50 hours per week.

Pay Range: Negotiable based on experience.

Per diem offered to candidates that qualify or during times of travel.

Duration: 9-12 months—Candidates willing to relocate to other job sites in other cities will be eligible for extensions.

Job Responsibilities Overall Construction Management (CM) accountability and is responsible for working with the Contractor Construction Managers for ensuring consistency in overall site contractor management.

Accountable for the safe, timely, on budget, and quality delivery of all construction activities.

Develops the Construction resources plan to execute the project.

Drives construction input during the Engineering Stages of the Project.

This includes providing construction input to the engineering schedule, model development and estimates if possible.

Provides construction safety leadership in the field and making sure construction safety is incorporated into the project design and execution plan.

Works with engineering to ensure receipt of engineering materials and IFC drawings support the construction schedule.

Develops the necessary construction work packages.

Responsible for the productivity of all Time and Material (T&M) contractors.

Identifies and shares risks to construction delivery and ensure adequate risk mitigation and contingency plans are in place.

Works with Operations to determine system turn over requirements and integrates this into the overall construction schedule.

Ensures all agreed upon prestart-up activities are completed on schedule.

Responsible for ensuring contractors plan for receipt and management of all construction materials once issued to the work sites including all preservation activities to maintain equipment integrity.

Responsible for minimizing field rework and when it occurs making sure that vendors and contractors are held financially accountable.

Responsible for ensuring construction learnings are documented and shared with others and incorporated into Project/Construction Management Best Practices as applicable.

Provides monthly construction reporting to project management, Responsible for tracking construction contractor performance (both safety, quality and schedule) Provides monthly progress percent complete based on established work break down structures and/or project rules of credit.

Job Qualifications Must have at least 5+ years of Utilities & Distribution experience within natural gas, oil & gas, or agriculture.

Must have previous experience in new construction managing subcontractors as the owner’s rep.

Must be willing to travel to more than one job site.

Previous experience within renewable plastics/energy would be a huge plus.

Candidates local to the Ontario County, NY or Sioux Falls, SD region would be a big plus.
