Our Financial Actuaries are on the frontlines, quantifying risk, pricing insurance and reserving losses for AIG’s major regulated and rated insurance operating companies globally.

Portfolio Analytics and Pricing Actuaries support AIG’s businesses and are responsible for technical pricing, product development analytics and performance measurement.

They collaborate with Marketing, Operations and Financial Management.About the roleWe are seeking an actuarial professional with industry expertise to assist with pricing the Mergers and Acquisitions business.

The Actuary will be responsible for profitability studies, reserve studies, portfolio deep dives, working with underwriters on large account pricing, and pricing model development & enhancements.

They will partner with other actuaries in implementing best practices analytical techniques, assess the impact of loss trends and claims emergence, and partner with underwriters in assessing the impact of changes in appetite and portfolio mix.

We are looking for an individual who is internally motivated, intellectually curious, has the ability to manage multiple priorities, and is driven to enhance existing processes and make an impact on the business.What you need to kn:* Provide actuarial pricing and portfolio support focusing in on Mergers and Acquisitions insurance.* Work closely with underwriting to develop pricing and underwriting strategies and identify pockets of profitable growth opportunities.* Monitor rate, exposure, retention, new, lost business changes.

Monitor loss trends and relevant industry/regulatory changes and effectively communicate to the management.* Provide business solutions to maximize risk adjusted profit.

Develop analytical tools to help business effectively manage existing portfolios.* Determine and communicate the reserve development.

Ensure that underwriting changes and actions are incorporated when estimating reserves.* Work with finance and accounting to ensure adequate and reserves are set every quarter, on both a statutory and GAAP accounting basis.* Complete regular reviews of the parameters in the pricing systems and assist with implementing necessary changes.* Continue to develop in knowledge of the business and of data/ analytics tools.

Make progress on exams toward attainment of actuarial credentials.* Train junior staff.What we’re looking for:* BS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related area.* ACAS or FCAS preferred.* A proven track record of experience in commercial lines preferred, as is some financial lines experience.* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.* Work well both independently and as part of a team.* Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python, SAS, R or other programming languages preferred.* Strong business and collaboration skills, and responsive to service needs and operational demands.* Effective time management skill.* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.* Customer focusA look at our benefitsAt AIG, we have a 100-year legacy of working to make the world a better place.
