Electro-Mechanical Inspector-2nd Shift

L3Harris Technologies

This is a Contract position in Williston Park, NY posted December 14, 2020.

The Avionics business unit of L3Harris Technologies is growing Join the team as an Electro Mechanical Inspector.

In this role you will: Visually inspect in-process and completed products such as electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies or mechanical units, subassemblies, structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds.

Perform Receiving Inspection, In-process Inspection, and Final Inspection functions.

Use various measuring devices.

Accept, reject, or rework defective or malfunctioning units or systems.

Work from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists.

May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Perform line clearances after each lot to ensure all materials from the previous lot have been removed.

Repeted actions of bending, stooping, reaching and lifting 40lbs.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

2 years performing mechanical measurements, using various measuring instruments GD&T methodology.

2 years performing simple surface plate set-ups, micrometers, height gages, optical comparators, etc.

Preferred Skills: Ability to perform electronic and/or hybrid inspection of complex electrical assemblies, components and systems.

Able to describe nonconformance situations and assist in the cause and resolution.

Able to review reworked and repaired items for acceptance.

Able to understand drawings and drawing notes.

Must have reasonably good manual dexterity.

Experience with reading blueprints.

Computer Skills and CAD preferred.
